Chapter 33

Post-9/11 GI Bill

The most comprehensive GI Bill benefit. Covers full tuition, housing allowance (BAH), and book stipend for those who served 90+ days after 9/11/2001.

Who Qualifies

Active duty with 90+ days service after 9/11, or honorably discharged veterans

Key Benefits

  • ·Full tuition at public schools (private capped at $26,381.37/yr for 2024-2025)
  • ·Monthly housing allowance (E-5 with dependents BAH rate)
  • ·$1,000/year book and supply stipend

Chapter 30

Montgomery GI Bill (Active)

A monthly stipend for education if you contributed $1,200 during service. Less generous than Post-9/11 but can be used alongside other programs.

Active duty veterans who paid into the program

Chapter 35

Survivors & Dependents

Education benefits for spouses and children of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to service, or died during active duty or as a result of a service-connected disability.
